About The Islamic Society of Tallahassee

IST is a 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit organization that operates Masjid Al-Noor in the Northeast Tallahassee area.

In March of 2024, shortly before Ramadan, IST began operating Masjid Al-Noor at a temporary location. Alhamdulillah, in June of 2026, IST purchased and moved into its current building, which is more centrally located for the growing Muslim communities in Northeast, East, and Southeast Tallahassee. The Board of Directors of IST is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the organization and its masjid. The Board of Trustees of IST is responsible for approving or vetoing major decisions by the Board of Directors and resolving any disputes within the organization. IST is a membership organization and members are responsible for electing individuals to the Board of Directors and voting on any other matters referred to the membership by the Board of Directors or the Board of Trustees.
