About The Islamic Society of Tallahassee

Islamic Society of Tallahassee Inc. is a 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing and operating a masjid in Northeast Tallahassee that is located near the growing Muslim community in the Northeast, East, and Southeast suburbs of Tallahassee.

Since March of 2024, shortly before Ramadan, IST has been operating Masjid Al-Noor at its temporary location at 7117 Beech Ridge Trail. At this time, Friday Jumu’ah prayers as well as daily Fajr and Isha Jama’ah prayers are regularly conducted. Additionally, nightly Taraweeh prayers have been conducted every Ramadan with a visiting Hafidh performing khatam Al Quran. By the grace of Allah, a more centrally located undeveloped property has been obtained by IST for the purpose of building a permanent masjid.

The Board of Directors of IST is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the organization and its masjid. The Board of Trustees of IST is responsible for approving or vetoing major decisions by the Board of Directors and resolving any disputes within the organization.
